Every college football Saturday is a memorable one, but some weekends deliver more drama than others, and Week 6 certainly falls into that category after the upsets that took place all around the country.
The shuffling of teams in the Week 6 AP Poll reflects the madness that unfolded, including Georgia picking up arguably the most impressive win of the season after taking down Alabama in Tuscaloosa. The Bulldogs were rewarded by taking over the No. 1 spot in the rankings. Texas, the No. 1 team in the nation since Week 2, fell six spots after being stunned at the Cotton Bowl by unranked Oklahoma.
The biggest movers in the latest AP Poll were two teams that faced off against one another on Saturday, with Kentucky going from unranked to No. 15 after stunning LSU in overtime. Lane Kiffin’s Tigers dropped 12 spots all the way to No. 22 after falling to 4-2 on the year.

While the No. 1 next to Georgia’s name is the ultimate sign of respect from voters, it’s also worth noting that Alabama remained at No. 6 despite losing to the Bulldogs in its first dropped game of the year. It’s clear that voters are impressed by Kirby Smart’s squad in Athens.
The new No. 2 team in the nation, Notre Dame, gets its first test of the season in Week 7 when it travels to take on No. 8 BYU on the road.
