Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb look to exploit struggling Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football

We’ve once again reached a Thursday Night Football match. This week has a little less luster than some of the others due to injuries, but it is still a football game and the only NFL one we get tonight. Let’s lock in, find a good wager, and get some cash as the Buccaneers head to the Lone Star State to take on the Cowboys.

Is the Buccaneers season already over? It is hard to say anything other than “Yes.” The team is 0-4, and they will be without Baker Mayfield for at least this week and potentially next week. Personally, I feel like this is one of those seasons you just start to look for what will happen next year. Mayfield signed a contract extension, and this almost instantly became a lost season.

The team can’t run the ball, and now they won’t be able to throw the ball as effectively. To their credit, Jalon Daniels played pretty well under center last week. They were close with the Packers, but they ultimately lost the game. Dallas has one of the worst rushing defenses in the league, and a bad-ish passing defense, so opportunity should be there for the Buccaneers regardless of who is starting at quarterback.

All of last season, the talk was about how bad the Cowboys’ defense was. Dak Prescott put together a nice season – though his success mostly comes at home. This season was supposed to be different with a rebuilt defense. Through four games, the team has one of the worst defenses in the league. They allow the third most yards per game of any defense in the game and the fifth most points per game.

Tampa has one of the better rushing defenses in the league, but that isn’t the strength of Dallas anyway. They would much rather give the ball to Prescott and have him throw the ball 40 times. It is a successful formula, especially when Dallas is at home. Half of Prescott’s yards and touchdowns this year have gone to CeeDee Lamb. I don’t think Tampa has much to stop Lamb from being successful.

CeeDee Lamb vs Bucs

Dallas has looked inconsistent at best this season. They were able to get a win over Houston last week. Tampa seems to be on the verge of a win, but not quite able to get over the hump. I think the only way for Dallas to win, regardless of who is under center for the opposition, is to get into a shootout. I’m going to take the over 47.5 points.
