Caitlin Clark diet and body transformation as WNBA star leaves fans flabbergasted

Caitlin Clark’s stunning body transformation partly came off the back of her daily breakfast sandwich order that left fans gobsmacked. The WNBA star had a rousing first season in the league where she led the Indiana Fever to the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

Her excellence on the court is certainly a testament to the dedication she shows towards her craft off the court in her attempt to get her body ready for the big leagues. Clark, 22, began her attempt to put on muscle in her senior year of college at Iowa last year with her diet being showcased while she featured in the ESPN+ series “Full Court Press”.

The show documented the day-to-day lives of Clark, Kamilla Cardoso and Kiki Rice, during the NCAA tournament as well as their off-court life. As part of the series, producer Hannah Beir regularly got the basketball superstar her usual breakfast order on taping days, which to the surprise of fans, was  a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich with an iced macchiato with vanilla sweet cream cold foam.

Many may have expected a breakfast full of greens for a supremo athlete like Clark, with one fan declaring: “She needs to eat better,” while another justified the hearty meal as they said: “She runs up and down that court every night making baskets, fans and lots of money. I think she will continue to eat what she loves. it’s none of your business what she puts in her body.”

Clark is said to have put on eight pounds of muscle in her last season at Iowa in order to gear up for her WNBA career which she did with carbohydrate-heavy meals post-game with her favourites being: “Chicken parm, pasta, and a big glass of chocolate milk,” she told the Des Moines Register.

A Division One basketball nutritionist laid out Clark’s plan for her muscle gain which involved staying in a calorie surplus where she made sure to eat more than what she was burning so her body could build muscle. On top of eating adequate protein daily, as well as consuming high calorie smoothies during the day and before bed, Clark added 500 calories a day in order to ensure her weight gain was gradual.

Clark was a consistent consumer of fast-acting sugars before the start of the game as during the series she was seen eating Honey Stinger Energy Chews which are fruit-flavored, snack-like candy nuggets that have vitamin C.

The point guard was also spotted enjoying utensil-free applesauce for a quick energy boost and immediate addition to her rising calorie count. Her toned biceps in her first year with the Fever was a noticeable result from her consistent diet that saw average 19.2 points per game and a league-leading 8.4 assists.
