Baked-on grease ‘melts off’ hobs in 5 minutes with 1 natural item – not vinegar or bicarb

Cleaning a hob can be one of the trickiest jobs in the kitchen, as it’s often the victim of various spills, stains and splatters.

It gets even worse when the heat from the burners seals these messes onto the surface, turning them into stubborn stains that are hard to shift.

One cleaning buff has shared their holy grail product that makes tackling those stained cooker hobs a doddle.

On the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook group, Nicola Davis enthused: “I was absolutely dreading cleaning my hob but thanks to the Dri-Pak liquid soda crystals it was a breeze.”

She regretted not snapping a ‘before’ photo, adding: “Unfortunately I didn’t think to take a pic before I started but it was in an awful state (don’t judge me!).

Her method was simple: “I just poured some of the stuff on and left it for five minutes followed by a wipe down with a microfibre cloth. It worked like magic. I didn’t have to scrub at all.”

Other members of the group also swear by this product. Diane Sloan offered her endorsement: “I’ve tried everything on my hob. Nothing ever seemed to get rid of the stains as well as liquid soda crystals.”

Katie Bourne agreed: “Yeah I love this stuff! It works so much better than Elbow Grease.”

Rachel Simm added her experience: “I usually use the Elbow Grease spray, but I used that stuff this time and the grease just melted off.”

Rachel also shared another tip: “I’ve even used it to clean other things like my oven and even my washing machine.”

The Dri-Pak Liquid Soda Crystals are a steal, with prices like £2.69 at Robert Dyas, just £2 at Big Green Smile, and an even more budget-friendly £1.99 at Ethical Superstore.

These versatile soda crystals boast alkaline qualities that make them a powerhouse for kitchen cleaning tasks.

Not only do they tackle kitchen grime, but they’re also champions at removing soap scum, mould, and limescale from bathroom suites, tiles, and shower curtains.

Cleaning guru Wendy Graham from Moral Fibres swears by them, saying that when it comes to greasy hobs, the grime will “wipe off with ease” after using soda crystals.
