Austin Butler and Zoë Kravitz were caught shooting Darren Aronofsky’s latest film Wednesday in New York City.
The Oscar-nominated “Elvis” star, 33, and 35-year-old actress-turned-“Blink Twice” director were photographed shooting on location for the star-studded crime thriller, “Caught Stealing.”
Helmed by the Academy Award-nominated “Black Swan” filmmaker, “Caught Stealing” centers on Henry Thompson (Butler), a burned-out former baseball player trying to survive amidst New York’s 1990s criminal underworld.
Avenue A’s Double Down Saloon has been providing the backdrop for the shoot according to multiple reports in the East Village neighborhood.
The actors were photographed just after Deadline reported Monday that Emmy-nominated D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, of “Reservation Dogs,” joined the cast — which also includes Liev Schreiber, Vincent D’Onofrio, Bad Bunny, Matt Smith, Regina King and Matt Smith.
Charlie Huston adapted the script from his book of the same name, which is one of several that follows Henry Thompson. Huston is also known for novels “Catchpenny,” and “Already Dead,” and previously wrote for series, “Powers” and “Gotham.”
Upon news in March confirming Butler and Aronofsky’s involvement, the director described “Caught Stealing” as an “adrenaline-soaked roller coaster ride.”
Butler got his start in kids’ TV, with the likes of a guest role on Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana” and a long-running uncredited role on Nickelodeon’s “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide.” His more adult breakout arrived when he played Watson in Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood,” followed by a star-making turn as the titular King of Rock and Roll in “Elvis.” Earlier this year, he also appeared in the hotly anticipated “Dune” sequel.
“Caught Stealing” marks Aronofsky’s first mainstream film since 2022’s “The Whale,” which won Brendan Fraser his first Oscar. Last year, the “Requiem for a Dream” director also released “Postcard from Earth,” an 18K sci-fi film specifically intended for screening at Las Vegas’ Sphere arena.
