Harriet Dart was knocked out of the China Open by losing to Clara Tauson in the opening round.
The Briton was back in action following her disappointing US Open exit to Marta Kostyuk, but was beaten 7-5 4-6 1-6 by Tauson.
After being tied at 5-5, Dart battled to clinch the first set and looked to be on her way to claiming the second after going 4-2 up.
However, Tauson pulled off a great comeback to turn the match around and levelled before the world number 72 eased to victory in the deciding third set, where Dart’s serve was broken three times.
