Zara customers couldn’t help but erupt into laughter when they stumbled upon an ensemble that bore an uncanny resemblance to attire donned by a famous character from the wizarding world of Harry Potter films.
A fashion enthusiast with the username @thefashionmenace was perusing the new ranges at Zara and found themselves face-to-face with the strangely familiar garment.
The outfit in question featured a beige, creased midi frock retailing at £49.99. You even can pair it with an equally crumpled jumper of the same colour and price.
People couldn’t help but notice the high-street outfit looked rather familiar. One shopper even uploaded a video garnering upwards of 1.3 million likes.
It compared the ensemble to Dobby from Harry Potter, synched to a viral audio clip of the elf exclaiming: “Master has given Dobby a sock.”
Dobby, the beloved house-elf character in J.K. Rowlings’ saga, once served the Malfoy clan before acquiring his freedom. He is noted for his diminutive stature, oversized ears, verdant gaze, and scrawny build often seen sporting haphazardly paired garments such as pillowcases or socks.
TikTok users were quick to agree – with some taking to the comments to poke fun at it themselves. One user said: “Dobby is FREE,” while another commented: “It’s giving the ability to part the Red Sea.”
A third wrote: “What would happen if I iron them?” Someone else penned: “Serving fitted sheet that I was too lazy to fold.”
