Man, 74, injured in South Jamaica, Queens, shooting



A 74-year old man was injured in a shooting on a Queens street Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Officers who responded to Merrick and Farmers Blvds. in South Jamaica around 4:51 p.m., found the unidentified man with a gunshot wound to his left thigh.

The victim told cops he was an innocent bystander and had been sitting on the sidewalk when two men fired shots in his direction.

He was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was said to be in stable condition.

Two 9-mm. shell casings were recovered at the scene.

There are no arrests. Police are said to be looking for two suspects.
