Keeping the NYPD on mission: Interim Commissioner Tom Donlon must get the department past Eddie Caban’s resignation

At 5 p.m. today Eddie Caban ends his year or so as police commissioner. The short tenure of this career NYPD man will not be remembered for seizing more than 18,000 illegal guns or the lowest number of robberies in the subway or last month having the lowest number of shootings ever for an August.
