Jannik Sinner ruined the American fairytale in New York, beating Taylor Fritz 6-3 6-4 7-5 to win the US Open.
Fritz was the first American man to reach a Grand Slam final since 2009. But he couldn’t get over the line and end the 21-year wait for a champion.
It comes just weeks after the International Tennis Integrity Agency announced that Jannik Sinner was found to have “bore no fault or negligence” for two positive doping tests from March.
