Taylor Swift is walking into her Chiefs era with NFL boyfriend Travis Kelce.
The “Karma” singer is expected to be at Arrowhead Stadium Thursday for the opener between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens.
Security arrangements for the night are already underway in preparation for her arrival, according to multiple reports. Though the Chief’s president Mark Donovan hasn’t officially confirmed the Grammy winner’s attendance for Thursday’s game, he did share that the team has protocols in place for when she is present.
“She wants to be there to support Travis,” he said on “Front Office Sports“. “And we’re going to create that opportunity. We’re going to provide that opportunity.”
Security is of particular concern on the heels of a thwarted terror plot in Vienna last month forced the cancellation of all the “Champagne Problems” singer’s dates in the Austrian capital.
Last year, Swift’s attendance at games sparked a major increase in NFL ratings with Swifties tuning in to get a glimpse of the “Shake It Off” star cheering on her man.
But Donovan notes that, while he understands fans want to see Swift at the games during the NFL broadcasts, he tries to make a “conscious decision to respect the relationship.”
“We’re not trying to capitalize on this,” he said. “We’re trying to celebrate it, but it’s not about doing too much or showing her every touchdown. She never appeared on our big board.”
As for Kelce, he says he doesn’t mind all the attention his superstar girlfriend receives and being Swift’s arm candy.
“It’s the life I chose, I guess,” Kelce said Thursday on CBS Mornings. “I have fun with it.”
