A massive search has been launched in mountains in Majorca for two British hikers who went missing during a storm.
Cops are trying to establish their whereabouts by triangulating their mobile phones.
They are said to have been near the Torrent de Paris, a river in the Tramuntana mountain range on Majorca’s northwest coast, when they vanished.
Parts of the island have been affected by severe flooding following heavy rain.
A spokesman for a regional government-run emergency services coordination centre said this morning: “A search is ongoing for two hikers missing since last night in the vicinity of Torrent de Pareis in Escorca.”
Civil Guard officers and firefighters are understood to be involved in the ongoing operation.
