The world's largest water park has an incredible 105 slides and cost £1.1bn to build

An incredible water park in Asia built at a staggering cost of £1.13 billion has an impressive 105 slides and is also the largest of its kind in the world. Nestled on the famous Palm Jumeirah in Dubai is the sprawling Aquaventure park with lazy rivers, surf simulators and a record-breaking number of water slides for all the family to enjoy.

The ultimate family destination started construction in 2006 and opened its gates to the public in 2008. The waterpark is a part of the iconic pink palace – Atlantis, The Palm – which has become synonymous with Dubai, and the landmark five-star hotel is the epitome of luxury.

The interesting destination has everything for everyone. From nice cafes, jaw-dropping scenes to ultimate rides – it is a one-stop place for family outings.

Among these attractions is the remarkable Odyssey of Terror, the world’s tallest waterslide. It sends the brave spiraling through a vortex of flume before plunging them into the thrilling ‘BIG DROP’.

The curved wall of the slide offers a brief moment of weightlessness before riders reconnect with the slick orange surface.

In addition to the action-packed Neptune Tower, Poseidon Tower, Splashers Island and Splashers Mountain, the addition of the brand-new Trident Tower, Splashers Lagoon and Splashers Cove, means Aquaventure is now home to over 28 additional slides and attractions.

Guests can also enjoy 1km (0.6 miles) of private beach, as well as watersports and 26 marine experiences including Dolphin Bay, Sea Lion Point and the Shark Lagoon.

It also boasts one of the largest open-air marine habitats in the world, with more than 65,000 marine animals in lagoons and displays including The Lost Chambers Aquarium, a maze of underwater corridors and passageways providing a journey through ancient Atlantis.

An Aquaventure Day Pass that includes Dolphin Discovery Presentation and free second-day access to Aquaventure Waterpark would come to £66 (AED 320).

Aquaventure and Atlantis, The Palm are both around a six-hour flight to Dubai.

Holidaymakers who have been to the popular destination have shared their experiences on a travel forum and everyone has the same thing to say.
