A would-be robber shot a grocery store clerk during a failed stickup in Brooklyn Friday, cops said.
The thief walked into the Royal Supermarket on 8th Ave. near 15th Street in Park Slope brandishing a firearm and demanding cash around 3 p.m., cops said.
That’s when the 50-year-old employee attacked the gunman and a scuffle ensued. It ended when the shooter put a bullet in the worker’s upper left thigh, cops said.
After the shooting, the crook fled the market empty-handed, according to police.
Paramedics rushed the victim to Methodist hospital in stable condition, cops said.
