Jennifer Lopez, Matt Damon to attend ‘Unstoppable’ premiere, Ben Affleck won’t: report

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck won’t be having any awkward run ins at the premiere of their film ‘Unstoppable’ because the “The Accountant” actor will not be in attendance.

According to People, Jenny from the Block will walk the carpet to promote the sports movie at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, as will co-producer Matt Damon.

Despite being one of film’s producers along with Damon, who is also his best friend, Affleck is opting out of the September event for reasons that weren’t disclosed.

Lopez’s carpet appearance will likely be her first after filing for divorce after almost two years of marriage to Affleck. In court documents, she cited April 26 as the date of separation and irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.

The last time the pair appeared together at a premiere was for JLo’s “This Is Me… Now: A Love Story” film. The 55-year-old singer showed up to the Met Gala alone, though Affleck’s rep cited a scheduling conflict for his absence.

The estranged couple worked together on the project with Lopez playing the mother of Anthony Robles, a wrestler who won a NCAA national championship in 2011 despite being born with one leg.

An official plot summary explains: “At home, he contends with a mother going through some growing up of her own,” the official TIFF website teases. “Jennifer Lopez, too often underrated, is terrific here.”

Affleck and Damon’s production company, Artist Equity, also produced Lopez’s upcoming film “Kiss Of The Spider Woman.”

“Unstoppable” will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6.
