Gunman on moped sought for Brooklyn shooting: NYPD

A moped-riding gunman blasted away at a man in Brooklyn, hitting him repeatedly before speeding off into the night, cops said Friday.

Police have released images of the gunman, who was wearing a motorcycle helmet at the time of the shooting, hoping that someone would recognize him.

The victim, 40, was on St. Johns Place near Buffalo Ave. in Crown Heights at about 1:20 a.m. Wednesday when the gunman opened fire.

The gunman shot the victim in the stomach, hip, and right forearm before he jumped on his moped and sped off, cops said. He was last seen heading south on Utica Ave.

EMS rushed the victim to Kings County Hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made. A motive for the shooting was not disclosed.

Detectives scouring the area recovered surveillance footage of the gunman, who is described as a man with a slim build. At the time of the shooting, he was wearing a black helmet, black hoodie, gray sweatpants, and gray sneakers.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
