You may have spotted some scary spiders crawling around your home in recent weeks.

As mating season approaches, spiders are looking for somewhere warm to stop – and the corners of your home are perfect for them.

And this all comes as the ‘fen raft spider’ – which can grow to be the size of a small rat – appears to be making a comeback across the country.

Brits have been left scrambling for spider-repelling solutions and luckily, one woman has the ultimate hack for getting rid of the critters.

Lucy Kalice, who shares life hacks on her TikTok page @lucykalice, said in a recent video: “Spider proof your house… if you don’t like spiders, this one is for you!”

In the clip, Lucy can be seen wiping all her furniture – from the top of her lights to her TV and walls – with kitchen roll. The roll has been sprayed with a mixture of water and white vinegar.

She starts by wiping the top of all her lamps, before wiping down her walls and patio door frames. She also uses the solution in the corner of rooms, on the front door, and on her skirting boards.

Lucy said: “I don’t know about you but I am finding spiders everywhere in my house at the moment. So I’m going to show you how to spider-proof your house – you only need two things which I guarantee you already have. White vinegar and water.

“White vinegar is amazing for cleaning so many things. You only need about one part vinegar, 10 parts water. If you can, put it in an empty spray bottle.”

Explaining how it works, Lucy added: “The vinegar is meant to deter spiders but most importantly it is also a dog friendly way of doing it.” Lucy also pointed out that the method doesn’t kill the critters, but just puts them off setting up camp in your home.

Commenting on her video, one individual said: “Must try this!” “They’re everywhere aren’t they,” added another.
