Sarah Jessica Parker’s shoe line is coming to an end

It’s the end of the line for “Sex and the City” star Sarah Jessica Parker’s shoe brand.

“After 10 colorful years, SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker has made the difficult decision to close its doors this fall,” the company said in a statement to Footwear News.

Remaining merchandise can be purchased online or bought from the company’s West Village flagship store at 385 Bleecker Street, which shutters for good on Sunday. Her brick-and-mortar stores will continue to operate in Dubai, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates until a yet-to-be-determined date, according to People.

The original flagship SJP retailer on W. 54th Street closed in June 2022 after a little over two years, having been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s new location on Bleecker opened in February of last year, just a short walk from the West Village brownstone that was used as the exterior for the apartment of Parker’s “Sex and the City” character Carrie Bradshaw.

While “Sex and the City” famously celebrated shoes from 1998 to 2004, SJP footwear was more recently featured on the spinoff “And Just Like That” under the fictional brand name “Duchessa Gardini.”

“There is no SJP collection in Carrie’s world,” Parker told Vogue in 2022 of the decision not to use her brand’s real name. “I didn’t want it to look like I was exploiting a business opportunity and HBO either, but as we were approaching my first fitting in May of last year, it became clear that there were still some holes … to fill in terms of the accessories.”

Parker’s other business ventures include a literary imprint, a wine collection and fragrances. She’s estimated to be worth around $200 million, according to the Celebrity Net Worth website.

Parker also remains active on the big and small screen. The 59-year-old Ohio native is expected to appear alongside Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy in “Hocus Pocus 3,” which Disney greenlit in 2022. A miffed Midler told Variety in July she still hadn’t seen a script.
