Danilo suffers horror injury as flags erected around Nottingham Forest star

Nottingham Forest midfielder Danilo was stretchered off just six minutes into the new Premier League season after suffering a horror leg injury against Bournemouth. The City Ground fell silent as staff covered the Brazilian star by using large flags as a makeshift screen before he was stretchered off the pitch.

Danilo started alongside Ibrahim Sangare in Nuno Espirito Santo’s midfield but could now be sidelined for several months after seemingly breaking his leg in the early stages.

The 23-year-old contested an aerial ball with Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo but collapsed in agony after the bottom of his leg appeared to snap on impact with the turf.
