With fans left wondering what’s next, Channel 4 is ready to deliver – but will this new show live up to its predecessor?
Channel 4 is giving one lucky duo the chance to bag their very own French chateau – and it’s all to play for in a brand-new competition series.
Building on the success of Chateau DIY, the broadcaster has teamed up with Spark Media North for a high-stakes reality show, Chateau DIY: Win the Dream, where twelve pairs of hopefuls will go head-to-head in a series of challenges to prove they’ve got what it takes to run a grand French estate.
The ultimate prize? A stunning castle in France, worth up to £250,000 – a steal compared to UK house prices!
But to get the keys, contestants must showcase top-notch design, renovation, and business skills, with the Chateau DIY experts on hand to judge their every move.
Channel 4’s Jayne Stanger teased: “It’s the perfect mix of glorious escapism and nail-biting competition.”
With one of the biggest prizes in daytime TV history, this is set to be the must-watch battle for a dream life abroad.
After parting ways with Channel 4 when Escape to the Country was axed, The Strawbridges decided to take their storytelling skills on the road.
They shared the exciting news on their joint Instagram account, revealing that they will be embarking on a brand new tour which promises to be their biggest and most interactive yet.
Dick and Angel’s Forever Home is set to kick off in just four weeks, and the tour will include 33 shows across the UK.
It is a golden opportunity for fans to engage with the couple in person and become part of the Chateau’s ongoing story.
Channel 4 previously confirmed it had cut ties with the couple after an investigation was launched into alleged clashes with show bosses.
Audio later surfaced of a heated altercation between Angel and Escape to the Country producers.
In the sound bite Angel was seemingly left furious at a schedule change which is thought to have occurred at some point during filming of the first four seasons.
Who are Dick and Angel Strawbridge?

The TV couple shot to fame in 2016 when their series Escape to the Chateau launched on Channel 4.
Running for nine series, it followed Dick and Angel as they renovated their 19th century French mansion.
They have two children together, Arthur and Dorothy, who featured in the show
It quickly became a fan-favourite show of the schedule as millions tuned in to see the couple tackle each corner of their 45-bedroom chateau.
Escape to the Chateau came to a natural end in October 2022 by mutual agreement between Channel 4 and Dick and Angel.
Despite the broadcaster and the pair working together on other projects, they were axed from the channel following a recording leaking appearing to capture Angel in a foul-mouthed exchange with a producer.
After explaining her annoyance at being left waiting to film, a member of the crew attempted to reason with her and explained they will all “get really stressed”.
Shockingly, the star then openly admits that her husband Dick speaks to “everyone like s***” when he gets grumpy which leads to a producer telling her that he “doesn’t like that either” before she furiously let rip at the crew member.
She blasted him for taking images inside the Chateau and posting them on Instagram as she appeared to hint that the photos resembled her husband Dick at work.
Launching into a foul-mouthed tirade, she screamed: “Who is that inspired by when you’re f*****g working at the chateau?
“Just tell me that and then you can f*****g leave and this is me f*****g angry because I think you’re a f****d up little c***.”
