Two brothers have been arrested after a savage machete attack outside a hotel in Nassau County, Long Island, authorities said.
The incident unfolded just before 11 a.m. Friday following an argument in the parking lot of a Days Inn hotel in Hicksville, in the town of Oyster Bay, local media reported.
According to Nassau County Police, 21-year-old Jelony Conze struck a 43-year-old male with his 2005 Nissan Altima. He then exited the vehicle and attacked the victim with a machete.
Conze reportedly slashed the victim’s hands multiple times causing severe lacerations, detectives said, according to LongIsland.com
The suspect’s 23-year-old brother, Adoni Omhari Conze, also exited the vehicle before allegedly punching the victim in the face numerous times.
The victim, who has not been named, was transported to a local hospital in stable condition, police said.
The two brothers fled the scene but were later arrested without incident.
The younger Conze was charged with second-degree attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon. His brother was charged with assault.
They both pleaded not guilty in Nassau District Court on Saturday.
Jelony Conze’s bail was set at $100,000 cash, $200,000 insured bond or $125,000 partially secured surety bond. His brother’s was set at $50,000 cash, $100,000 insured bond or $75,000 partially secured surety bond.
