A suspicious device discovered outside an East Harlem NYPD stationhouse sparked a bomb scare Wednesday, officials said.
The device, found at 12:20 p.m. outside the 25th Precinct stationhouse on E. 119th St., prompted an immediate response from the NYPD Emergency Service Unit and the bomb squad, authorities said.
A suspect was arrested in connection with the incident. Charges were pending.
The area was quickly cordoned off as a precaution, though no evacuation of the stationhouse was deemed necessary.
The bomb squad took the device to Rodman’s Neck in the Bronx for further examination.
