Vladimir Putin’s Black Sea Fleet has been delivered a fresh blow as Ukraine’s defence forces launched an overnight strike on a coast guard base in western Crimea.
Kyiv launched a large aerial drone and waterborne uncrewed vehicles attack on the Russian forces based on the Crimean Peninsula.
Moscow’s Black Sea Fleet was engaged in exercises in the Lake Donuzlav area, northeast of the city of Yevpatoriya when Ukraine launched the attack.
A law enforcement insider claimed that the strike had “damaged and disabled” the headquarters of the exercises’s control centre as well as an ammunition and equipment depot.
Russia did not confirm the extent of the damage but claimed its forces had “destroyed” 10 unmanned boats in the Black Sea.
