An eyewitness said there was “blood everywhere” as former President Trump was injured in an apparent assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The US secret service, tasked with protecting serving and former Commanders-in-Chief said the suspected shooter fired from an “elevated position” killing at least one person and critically injuring two others. The suspect was then killed by law enforcement.
Brandon Christie, who was at the campaign event on Saturday, told “Hannity” that he initially thought the “pop” of a gunshot was just speaker crackling before people started screaming.
He and his family scrambled to to the floor as a Secret Service member allegedly discharged his weapon a number of times in the direction of the shooter.
“There was just blood everywhere,” Christie said.
Another attendee told Fox News she heard a noise like firecrackers before the crowd was ordered to get down.
“We huddled and we just started praying,” she told the outlet. “The lady in front of me that laid on top of me, she was crying. I just said, ‘It’s going to be OK, honey.'”
