Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce to open upscale steakhouse in Kansas City

Kansas City Chiefs superstars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are teaming up off-field to go into the restaurant business.

The three-time Super Bowl champs are set to unveil an upscale steakhouse in Kansas City called 1587 Prime.

The name of the two-floor venue, which will open next year in the Loews Kansas City Hotel, honors their combined jersey numbers of 15 and 87.

Both football players are investors in the venture with Noble 33, a global hospitality company with restaurants in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto and London, among other cities.

“Travis and I have become frequent visitors of Noble 33 restaurants in other cities so it only made sense to bring something special to our own community in Kansas City,” Mahomes said in a statement Thursday.

“We’re excited to be a part of this journey with Noble 33 to create a one-of-a-kind dining experience, and what better place to start than our very own Kansas City,” Kelce added.

Boasting private dining rooms, a meat display and one of the largest wine selections in the state, 1587 Prime promises to feature “hyper-subtle nods” to what the quarterback and tight end have accomplished in their careers over the years.

“Working with Patrick and Travis has been incredible. As longtime supporters of our other restaurants, we worked together to combine their favorite elements of those experiences into what we developed for 1587 Prime,” Noble 33 co-founder and chairman Tosh Berman said in Thursday’s announcement. “They are natural hosts and can’t wait to bring a unique modern American steakhouse experience to Kansas City.”

A formidable duo on the football field, Mahomes and Kelce also joined Otro Capital in investing in the Alpine Formula 1 racing team last year.

“Our shared passion for excellence and innovation forms the cornerstone of this partnership,” Kelce said in a statement. “It’s about being able to contribute to a sport that demands precision, teamwork, and relentless pursuit of success. I am looking forward to this new chapter and can’t wait to see what we achieve together.”
