Severed arm found on Illinois beach belongs to Milwaukee woman who was dismembered after date

A human arm discovered on a beach in Illinois is that of Sade Robinson, a 19-year-old from Milwaukee who was killed and dismembered following a date with the man now charged with her murder.

The Lake County Coroner’s office said DNA testing confirmed the body part belonged to Robinson, just more than a month after it washed ashore on Waukegan Municipal Beach on May 11. Police at the time said it was mostly in tact and likely belonged to a female.

“On behalf of the Lake County Coroner’s Office, I want to express our sincere condolences to Sade’s family and friends who continue to endure this tragic loss,” Coroner Jennifer Banek said in a statement to Patch.

Maxwell Anderson has been charged in the slaying of Sade Robinson.

Robinson was first reported missing on April 2, a day after she went on her first date with 33-year-old Maxwell Anderson, who is facing counts of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse and arson in connection with her slaying. He has since pleaded not guilty and is being held on $5 million bail.

Additional remains, including a torso, another arm, a severed right leg and a foot with pink nail polish, were found across several different locations throughout April.

Robinson’s 2020 Honda Civic was also discovered shortly after her disappearance. Police said the inside of the vehicle was severely damaged from a fire.

In a statement to WISN, Robinson’s mother,  Sheena Scarbrough, called on Anderson to confess to the grisly murder.

“Anderson needs to confess, and his parents need to come out of the shadows and get him to stand up for the truth,” she said. “I want my daughter’s remains! Sade should not have to spend eternity lost because of Anderson’s evil agenda.”
