TK Maxx and Homesense warn customers of popular drink contaminated with insects

A new alert by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has detailed issues with three tea loose leaf tea products sold in TK Maxx and Homesense.

The FSA issues product withdrawal notices and food recalls information to inform consumers about food problems.

In this case, a range of organic premium leaf teas by Kintra Foods was found to pose a risk to customers.

A statement from the FSA read: “TK Maxx and Homesense are recalling selected batches of Kintra Foods Organic Premium Leaf Teas because some of these products have been found to contain insects.”

The products were sold in TK Maxx and Homesense stores between April and June 2024.

Kintra Foods Organic Premium Leaf Teas – Sleepy

  • Pack size: 40g
  • Batch codes: 6058, 6102 and 6125

The products are no longer listed on TK Maxx’s website and have since been withdrawn from shop shelves.

According to the FSA, point-of-sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling these products to explain to customers why the products are being recalled.

Customers who may have purchased the products affected have been urged not to consume the tea.

Instead, consumers can return the tea products to any TK Maxx or Home Sense store for a full refund.
