Missing Missouri student seen in surveillance video after leaving Luke Bryan’s bar

Riley Strain, the University of Missouri student who disappeared in Nashville last weekend after he was kicked out of Luke Bryan’s bar, was stumbling en route to his hotel, according to new surveillance footage shared by local authorities.

The new video shows the 22-year-old running and falling along a sidewalk, hitting a pole. A moment later, Strain is seen standing and resuming his path. He is then shown from another angle at 9:45 p.m. last Friday, stumbling along what looks like a construction site.

The new angles were discovered after a construction worker and Strain’s mother asked staff at nearby Music City Wine and Spirits to review their cameras’ footage for any sign of the missing student, News Channel 5 Nashville reports.

Strain, who was in town with his Delta Chi brothers for the fraternity’s annual spring formal, told his pals that he would walk back to their hotel after he was booted from Luke’s 32 Bridge, located in downtown Nashville, at approximately 9:45 that evening. Though authorities previously neglected to say why Strain had been asked to leave, TMZ reports he had been over-served.

Strain’s phone appeared to be dead when his friends, who found only his room key at the hotel, tried to reach him.

Phone pings and location information from Snapchat have also proved fruitless in turning up Strain.

Earlier this week, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department shared 44-second footage of Strain from behind, pulling something that resembled luggage. He was “wearing a 2-tone shirt” while “crossing 1st Ave North to Gay Street (right to left)” at 9:47 p.m. local time last Friday.

Family friend Chris Dingman told multiple outlets this week that Strain was recognized by individuals at least two nearby homeless camps.

Strain — whose phone last pinged near Public Square Park along the Cumberland River — is described as 6-foot-5 with a thin build, blue eyes and light brown hair, per Nashville police.

“The sad part of this situation is every day we get new leads and go down different avenues,” Dingman told WSMV4. “We’re going to get there, but it also opens up more doors on what could’ve possibly happened.”

Bryan, 47, addressed the case in a since-expired Instagram Story, per TMZ.

“Y’all this is scary. Praying for his safe return,” he said, noting that TC Restaurant Group, which owns and operates Luke’s 32 Bridge, “is continuing to work closely” with authorities “to provide security camera footage and any other potentially helpful information to aid in the search for Riley Strain.

“Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones for his safe return,” he continued.
