Ben Affleck and ex-wife Jennifer Garner were spotted having what appeared to be a serious chat amid his reported estrangement from current wife Jennifer Lopez.
Affleck, 51, and Garner, 52, were spotted out in Santa Monica, Calif. Tuesday, with the “Gone Girl” star looking distraught as he sported jeans and a hoodie, according to pictures published by Us Weekly.
Garner, clad in athletic wear, also appeared somber as they stood beside each other.
The exes, who have remained friendly since finalizing their divorce in 2018, share three children.
The sighting occurred the day after a source told Entertainment Tonight that Affleck and the “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer, 54, are “living separate lives but have not officially separated yet. The “Argo” director recently moved out of the couple’s $60 million Beverly Hills mansion, which is now on the market.
“At this point, they are just doing their own thing,” said the insider. “They went into their relationship very optimistic and thought things could change, but they haven’t.”
The “Gigli” stars first got together in 2002 and were engaged by the end of that year. They called off their wedding and parted ways in early 2004.
Lopez dated Marc Anthony for six months before marrying him that June and welcoming twins Max and Emme before splitting in 2011.
Lopez and Affleck, who reconciled in 2021 and wed the following summer, have been the subject of split rumors for several weeks, after not having been photographed together for 47 days.
