James Maddison brutally taunted by Neal Maupay after missing out on England squad

James Maddison has been mocked by Neal Maupay in a brutal social media post following his exclusion from England’s Euro 2024 squad. Maddison and Maupay engaged in a bitter war last season after the on-loan Brentford star copied the Tottenham playmaker’s darts celebration.

Maupay scored the opening goal in Brentford’s 3-2 defeat by Spurs in February. He marked the strike by imitating miming a dart, something Maddison has done after his goals for several years.

Maddison responded by telling broadcaster TNT Sports: “He probably hasn’t scored enough goals in the last couple of years for his own celebration, so he probably had to copy mine!”

Maupay, the Premier League’s chief wind-up merchant, has now responded to Maddison’s exclusion from England’s squad for Euro 2024 with a savage social media post. Taking to X, the Everton forward has posed in front of a dart board and is seen holding three darts.
