Motorists are often left frustrated when a part of their car suddenly ceases to function.
Dealing with defective wiper blades can be particularly aggravating, as they leave unsightly streaks across your windscreen. Typically, when this problem arises, many drivers reluctantly fork out for new blades and an accompanying vehicle service.
However, it appears that costly repairs may not be necessary. A TikTok user has shared a nifty trick that could save you a pretty penny on car maintenance.
The user, @master_driver666, who previously shared tips for fixing broken mirror windows and getting rid of stubborn AC odours, has now revealed how you can replace your wiper blades without an expensive service.
In her latest video, the TikToker demonstrates the process while standing next to her vehicle. About a minute into the footage, she explained: “The wiper blade cannot clean the glass, come and see, there’s a black button here. Let’s hold it down with our hands, then gently pull it up, the wiper blade has been removed.”
She continued: “Next aim your new wiper blade here, insert it from top to bottom, the wiper blades have been replaced.”
This discovery makes it incredibly simple to find a replacement and carry out the task yourself.
Visiting a garage for this issue usually means paying both for the new part and the service, which can amount to around £50. Some establishments even charge upwards of £8 just for fitting the blade.
But now, armed with this new knowledge, you can easily save some money along the way. This enlightening video has racked up over 14,200 shares and a remarkable 60,000 likes since it went live last week.
Although some followers lauded the woman’s extensive video, others put forward their own hacks for window repair and switches. One asked: “How do you fix a window?” Meanwhile, someone else questioned: “Still waiting for window repair.”
In other tricks, recently drivers could get access to “more functions” as a major car wash hack was unveiled. It means road users can tell the units to give extra attention to sections such as the wheels or bodywork to leave a vehicle sparkling.
