Ellen DeGeneres announces ‘final’ standup tour dates, with NYC this summer

Ellen DeGeneres has announced the dates for her final standup comedy tour, making stops in Philadelphia on July 31 and New York City on Aug. 1, as it spans across North America.

The 66-year-old comedian shared the details of her farewell stint, titled “Ellen’s Last Stand… Up,” in an Instagram post Wednesday morning.

“Here it is! These are the cities and dates for my final stand-up tour. Pre-sale starts tomorrow May 30th at 10am local time with code CHICKEN. Get your tickets at ellenshop.com/tour,” she captioned the post.

In a statement Wednesday, DeGeneres told People Magazine the tour will be her “final curtain call,” and the last opportunity for her fans to see her perform live.

Earlier this month, she announced an upcoming Netflix special and told the outlet, “Yes, I’m going to talk about it,” implying she would address the allegations of a toxic workplace environment on the set of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

The taped special, which is scheduled to be recorded on Aug. 16 and 17 in Minneapolis, appears to be the final two days of her upcoming tour.

During a recent routine at the Largo in Los Angeles, DeGeneres joked about being “kicked out of show business” for being “mean.”

Former staffers on her show complained of racial microaggressions, penalization for taking medical leave, fear of retaliation for raising concerns and unexpected terminations, according to a 2020 Buzzfeed report.
