Air fryers have become extremely popular in recent years thanks to their ability to cook foods faster, helping households to save energy.
Lots of foods can be cooked in the appliance, including chicken, sausages and even sweet goods.
If you’re looking for a quick dinner to cook for the family, this air fryer sausage bake may be a good option.
The recipe notes said: “This air fryer sausage bake is a super speedy all-in-one meal, perfect for weeknights when you’re low on time and energy.”
What’s more, this recipe can be made from start to finish in under one hour.
Ingredients:
One red onion, quartered
One red pepper, cut into chunks
180g cherry tomatoes
One courgette
Olive oil spray
150ml chicken stock
Two tablespoons of tomato puree
Four medium potatoes, sliced into one-centimetre wedges
Eight pork sausages
Handful of basil leaves, to garnish
Method:
Heat the air fryer to 190C and place the onion, pepper, cherry tomatoes and courgette in a container which will fit in the air fryer.
Spray with the olive oil and then roast in the air fryer for 10 minutes until softened.
Mix together the stock and tomato puree in a jug and then pour this over the vegetables, returning it to the air fryer for five minutes before setting it aside.
Toss the potato wedges in a few sprays of olive oil and then place in a lined basket of the air fryer and cook for 12 minutes.
Remove and shake the pan or turn the potatoes, then top with the sausages.
Cook for 10 minutes or until done, turning after six minutes. If your air fryer is small, you may need to do this in two batches.
Combine the vegetables and the sausage mixture and return to the air fryer for two minutes to heat through.
Spoon the sausage bake into a serving dish and top with the basil leaves if using before serving immediately.
The recipe notes added: “If it fits, use a 20cm round cake tin to bake everything in, it works a treat when adding the liquids too.
“Just make sure it’s not a loose-bottomed tin and feel free to swap in vegetarian sausages for a veggie version.”
