Queens high school assistant principal busted for sex abuse of 15-year-old student

A Queens high school assistant principal was busted for rubbing a 15-year-old student’s leg, showing her an X-rated video and telling her for her to pass his class “this will have to happen,” police said Thursday.

Michael Budhu, 51, was arrested Wednesday for sex abuse and acting in a manner injurious to a child.

On Monday, the student was in Budhu’s office at John Adams High School when he allegedly rubbed her leg, police say. The next day he showed her victim an X-rated video in his office, according to cops.

“If you want to pass my class,” Budhu allegedly said, “this will have to happen.”

Budhu was conditionally released after pleading not guilty during his arraignment in Queens Criminal Court Thursday. He is due back in court in July to face the charges.

Department of Education spokeswoman Jenna Lyle in a statement called the accusations “reprehensible.”

“Nothing is more important than the safety and well-being of our students,” Lyle said. “This employee has been reassigned pending an investigation.”
