Santander launches new £175 money offer – here's how you can qualify

Santander is dishing out a tempting £175 bonus to new and existing customers who jump ship to their banking services. The high-street giant has rolled out this lucrative switch offer for those who hop over using the Current Account Switch Service (CASS) to a Santander Edge, Santander Edge Up or Private current account.

To pocket the cool £175, switchers must complete the full transfer within 60 days, deposit a minimum of £1,500, set up two active direct debits, and keep the account open until the reward is paid. However, there’s a catch: if you’ve snagged a switch offer from Santander before, you’re out of luck this time.

The bounty is paid within 90 days after the switch begins. Newcomers can make the switch online or in-branch, but loyal customers need to visit a branch to avail of the offer, the Mirror reports.

Andrea Melville, Santander’s bigwig for Current Accounts, Savings and Business Banking, enthused: “Following a fantastic response to our switcher incentive earlier this year, we are pleased to be able to offer yet another reason to join the bank. Our switching offer gives customers an added boost, while our Edge current accounts provide customers with long-term ongoing value, through cashback on their essential spending and household bills.”

The Santander Edge current account, which carries a monthly £3 fee, offers customers up to £20 a month in cashback on essential bills and spending. It also includes a linked 7.00 percent AER easy access saver and fee-free spending abroad.

Meanwhile, the Edge Up current account from Santander provides customers with up to £30 a month in cashback on essential bills and spending, 3.5 percent AER in credit interest (up to £25,000) on their current account balance, and fee-free spending abroad, all for a £5 monthly fee.

Santander’s Private Current Account (v2) offers customers up to £1,500 in daily withdrawals from cash machines, access to 10,000 branches across 11 countries, and 3.5 percent AER interest on balances up to £25,000, all for a £5 monthly fee.
