A mum has been mauled to death by dogs in her own garden in a sickening incident which left her two young children with serious injuries.
Courtney Williams, 35, was pronounced dead after being set upon by the pack of dogs in the US state of Georgia on Thursday.
Police were called to a property in Quitman, Brooks County at 4.45pm on Thursday to reports of children being bitten.
They found multiple aggressive dogs on the property and Ms Williams who had been fatally injured.
Her two children – who are believed to be primary school age – were rescued from the scene by a neighbour and taken to hospital before officers arrived.
The breed of dog has yet to be revealed.
In a statement, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said: “When deputies arrived, they encountered several aggressive dogs on the property.
“It was determined the juveniles had already been transported to a local hospital by a private citizen.
“Deputies subsequently located the body of Courtney Williams, white female, 35 years of age, in the yard of the residence.”
Crystal Cox, Ms William’s sister-in-law, paid tribute while also revealing the extent of the children’s injuries in a Facebook post.
Graphic images show a deep open wound on the right arm of one of the youngsters, alongside bite marks and bruising over their legs and body.
Ms. Cox said they were saved by a “nice man” in a truck who found them bleeding in the road.
She added: “The kids are at my house resting along with their father.”
