This weekend, Sir Brian May will perform as a special guest in a free concert helmed by Jean-Michel Jarre, called Bridge from the Future.
The Queen legend and French composer will play in Bratislava, Slovakia this Sunday May 12, 2024, to kick-off the five-day STARMUS festival: “the globe’s preeminent gathering uniting science, art, and music.”
The rock star co-founded the annual event to “inspire the next generation of explorers and regenerate the spirit of discovery, engaging humanity with the biggest issues of our time.”
Fans can attend the Bridge from the Future for free at 21:00 CET (8pm BST) with more information on how to here. Alternatively, a live stream can be viewed on Sunday in the YouTube link below.
Sir Brian has also released a new video, which you can view above, in which the 76-year-old enthuses about the upcoming concert.
In the video, Sir Brian said: “Hello Slovakia. Hello Bratislava. And thank you for hosting this edition of STARMUS. I’m incredibly excited to be working with Jean-Michel Jarre. We have been friends for some time and we’ve always spoken about working together. We’ve never actually played together until this moment in Bratislava.
“We’ve been secretly colluding though. We’ve been emailing and talking on the phone. And for me, now I can talk about it, and we’ve been tossing ideas backwards and forwards.”
Sir Brian added: “I am a guest in Jean-Michel’s production. This is totally a Jean-Michel Jarre extravaganza. Something extraordinary and epic. The idea of doing all these demos is that we are prepared for that moment live. And it will be an extraordinarily exciting thing for me. It will be live, it will be dangerous, so I’m very excited. I think we’re going to have an epic performance, which will be a suitable opening for this very special edition of STARMUS. We look forward to seeing you there!”
