Mrs Hinch fans have shared the “best” method for cleaning oven racks – and it doesn’t involve using pungent oven cleaning products.
Ovens are notoriously difficult to clean. It can often take hours of scrubbing, wiping and rinsing before your oven looks sparkling.
When it comes to cleaning ovens, most people resort to using chemical oven cleaners. While these are effective, they can smell pungent and can cause burns and irritation if they get on people’s skin.
With this in mind, fans of cleaning sensation and influencer Mrs Hinch have shared their go-to method for cleaning oven racks – biological washing powder.
Washing power can be bought from most local supermarkets for as little as £1.50 at Poundland.
Sandra Davies commented: “Soak in the bath with lots of biological washing powder and hot water. Leave overnight and rinse the next day they will be gleaming.”
Other suggestions from Mrs Hinch fans included using Oven Pride, a dishwasher, Fairy Liquid and a Brillo Pad.
Janet Shore said: “Oven Pride [is] so easy to use. I soak them in the bag provided then pop them in the dishwasher.”
Phil Mulholland commented: “Wash in [the] dishwasher with two or three tablets. They’ll come out shining. My motto is, if it fits in the dishwasher it goes in.”
Jayne Morrow suggested: “I did mine with warm water, Fairy Liquid and one of those wire scourers came up fine.”
Dot Adhiambo replied: “I soak in soapy water then scrub with Brillo Pads.”
