The Japanese Grand Prix is fast approaching and Max Verstappen will be desperate to bounce back from his early retirement in Melbourne last time out. The Dutchman was on a streak of nine consecutive victories before Carlos Sainz pounced on his misfortune to bank maximum points Down Under.
Red Bull are heavy favourites to win at Suzuka – a circuit which saw them dominate last season, with Verstappen clinching pole position by more than half a second and finishing the Grand Prix more than 20 seconds ahead of his rivals.
There is hope for Mercedes to put in a strong performance, too, after positive showings in practice sessions on Friday and Saturday. Lewis Hamilton is in desperate need of points after making his worst ever start to an F1 season.
