Ants in the UK typically nest underground where they can be protected from cold temperatures.
However, with the weather warming up households are noticing these little pests infiltrating their homes.
Unsure of how to get rid of them one woman took to the Mrs Hinch Army Cleaning Tips Facebook page to ask for some advice after her white vinegar method failed.
Kelly Smith said: “Hi everyone, I have an ant infestation and I used vinegar. It works for some hours but by the next day, the ants are back. What else can I use?”
While natural methods are good for getting rid of ants for a short period, these pests often need stronger solutions to ensure they never return.
Many group members suggested the product Ant Stop – a ready-to-use ant killer bait box that can be used indoors or outside.
Posting a picture of the product, Denise Todd wrote: “My dad swears by these. He tried everything, then got told about this and he has no ant problem now.”
Lorraine Campbell said: “I use Ant Stop. It’s smell free, mess free, not harmful to pets and never had an ant in the house again.”
