Construction worker killed in Manhattan building collapse

A construction worker was killed in a Manhattan building collapse Friday morning, the FDNY said.

The severity of the collapse was not immediately clear.

The incident happened at 9:18 a.m. on E. 35th St. near Park Ave. in Murray Hill.

The worker was apparently hit by falling debris, officials said.

Information about the work being done is not listed on the Department of Building’s website.

A report published in June said permits had been filed for a 18-story mixed-use building that will include 137 apartments.

This story is developing. Please check back for updates.
