“1,000-lb. Sisters” star Amy Slaton-Halterman was arrested at a Tennessee zoo Monday for child endangerment and drug possession after authorities were called about a camel biting a guest.
The reality star, 36, and Brian Scott Lovvorn were both arrested on illegal possession of Schedule I, illegal possession of Schedule VI, and two counts of child endangerment, the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department announced in a Facebook post.
“”From feeding a camel to the slammer,” authorities quipped. “It was no ordinary Labor Day in Crockett County.”
The incident occurred at The Tennessee Safari Park in Alamo, about 77 miles northwest of Memphis, where authorities had been called after “a guest allegedly was bitten by a camel.
“Upon arrival, deputies were immediately overtaken by suspicious odors coming from the guest’s vehicle,” continued the sheriff’s department.
Both Slaton-Halterman and Lovvorn were booked into the Crockett County Jail.
It’s unclear what substances were involved in the arrests or what prompted authorities to charge the pair with child endangerment.
Slaton-Halterman though is mom to sons Gage, 4, and Glenn, 2, both of whom she shares with estranged husband Michael Halterman.
Halterman filed for divorce from his high school sweetheart in March 2023, after six years of marriage — much of which was spotlit on the TLC hit.
“There was no support. There was no love. There was no kindness. There was just mental abuse,” Slaton-Haltermann told People of the relationship in December. “I just got tired of hiding it from people.”
Though the ultimate “nail in the coffin” occurred in a fight over baby formula, which was filmed for the show, Slaton-Haltermann confessed she “was falling out of love with him before that.”
The five-season show, which debuted in early 2020, centers on titular Kentucky sisters Slaton-Halterman and Tammy Slaton.
