Police lead urgent search for missing boy, 15, who was last seen in the lake near Lakeside Shopping Centre

A person was reported missing in a lake near Lakeside Shopping Centre in Thurrock, Essex last night.
Essex police rushed to the Alexandra Lake at the shopping centre at around 8.50pm on July 31.
Today the missing person was confirmed as a 15-year-old boy as police continue their search and people have been asked to avoid the area.
Specialist search teams have been called in to lead the urgent search for the teen who went missing on the water.

They will conduct extensive searches of the lake and surrounding area today.
The search appeared to be scaled down at around midnight last night but in their latest statement, Essex Police confirmed they are continuing to look for the missing 15-year-old.
Essex Police’s Superintendent Craig Saunders has described how a specialist search is now being conducted.
In a statement he said: ‘Our investigation has identified that he was last seen at around 8.50pm, on the lake.
‘We will be working with specialist search teams to carry out an extensive search of the lake and surrounding area today.
‘We ask that you please avoid the area, as we continue our search.’
